The City of Ojo’s Most Exciting 4-A-Side Football Showdown Begins This November
Lagos, Nigeria — October 2025

The Champions Challenge Cup 2025 is set to light up Ojo, Lagos this November, bringing together twenty skillful teams for a high-energy 4-a-side football contest that blends community spirit with competitive passion. Scheduled to kick off on Saturday, November 15, 2025, the four-week tournament promises thrilling weekend fixtures, electric music, and a festive atmosphere that celebrates both talent and teamwork.
With matches taking place every Saturday (4 PM – 6 PM) and Sunday (3:30 PM – 6:30 PM), the Champions Challenge Cup will transform the astroturf arena into a stage for both local legends and rising stars. The competition will run until December 6, culminating in a grand closing ceremony and the championship final.
This year’s edition features a ₦600,000 prize pool, with ₦350,000 going to the champions and ₦250,000 to the runners-up. The tournament will also honor individual brilliance with awards for the Most Valuable Player (MVP), all decided through a combination of fan votes and committee evaluations.
Beyond football, the Champions Challenge Cup stands as a model of organized community entertainment. The tournament will include live DJ performances, comedy breaks, and crowd challenges such as the penalty shootout, dance battles, raffle draws and more to keep fans entertained between matches. Food and merchandise vendors will add to the festival-like experience, making each weekend an event for families and supporters alike.
“This is more than just football — it’s about giving our community a platform to unite, express, and celebrate talent,” said Jo Arazi, the Tournament Director of the Champions Challenge Cup. “We’re combining the spirit of street football with the structure of the Champions League to create something special for both players and fans.”
A key feature of the Cup’s integrity is the Captains & Managers Committee (CMC) — a decision-making body consisting of team representatives and officials responsible for discipline, MVP voting, and fair play oversight. Each team will register seven players, pay a ₦50,000 participation fee plus a ₦3,000 caution fee, and adhere to strict match and conduct rules designed to maintain professionalism throughout the event.
Fans will enjoy access through affordable ticketing: ₦1,500 for league matchdays and ₦2,000 for the opening and final ceremonies. Only active players and one manager per team will enter free on their matchdays, reinforcing a fair and well-managed gate system.
“We want spectators to feel the intensity of professional football right here in our neighborhood,” added Joseph Damilare, Communications Lead for the event. “From the games to the player stats board, everything is designed to create a world-class experience.”
The Champions Challenge Cup 2025 is organized by the Champions Challenge Cup Organizing Committee (CCCOC), with the support of community leaders and local partners.
